I was listening to the audio, and all of a sudden it either stopped or began playing from the beginning again; what should I do?
Occasionally you may catch a snag in the live stream. If this happens, try clicking refresh in the lower right corner of the screen or manually refreshing your page by either right clicking the page and selecting refresh or left clicking the reload button near the top of your browser.

I have downloaded Flip for Mac in the past and had audio but now I do not see the media player. What should I do?
Macs will sometimes drop the plug-ins that have been installed before. When this happens you will need to re-download Flip4Mac. This is a free plugin that can be downloaded from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=915D874D-D747-4180-A400-5F06B1B5E559. Download and install, then restart your computer and audio should work for you.

I can see the media player in the lower right corner, but do not have audio. Under the play button in blue letters it says “pharmcon”. What does this mean?
If it says “pharmcon" in blue letters, that means that the stream is connected and is working properly. Most likely something is either muted on your computer, or a speaker wire may be unplugged. If you hear no sound at all coming from your computer with other applications and websites, something is probably muted on your computer. Go to the control panel and click “hardware and sounds” then click “adjust system volume” make sure all volume levels are set to max.
-
I can see the media player in the lower right corner, but do not have audio. Under the play button in blue letters it says “ready”. What does this mean?
This can mean a variety of things. If you are accessing the internet from work, your network administrator may have blocked streaming media. This will prevent media player from connecting to the stream and you will not receive audio. In this case you can either contact your network administrator and ask them to allow streaming media, or you can use the phone connection to get audio. For backup phone audio call, 916-209-4534, access code 5550#
If you are not on a work connection the issue is most likely being caused by a non supported update. If you are using a WinXP operating system or older, your computer may have updated to a level that is no longer supportive of media player. The WinXP operating system is over a decade old and Microsoft has stopped supporting these operating systems and therefore problems have started with media player. The best solution is to download firefox web browser, then audio should work for you.
You can get Firefox by going here http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/.

I Have an iPad or an iPhone. Will I be able to access the program with these?
iPad and iPhone are not supported by our programs. You may be able to download flip4mac and hear the audio and see the program correctly, but you may run into issues trying to answer the poll questions because of screen resolution difficulties. Because of these difficulties we do not support iPads or iPhones for our programs. You may be able to listen to the program on it but it would be wise to have a back up computer running the program so if any issues arise you can answer the poll questions to get credit.

I have internet explorer, but I do not see the media player in the lower right corner of the classroom. All I see is an empty gray box with a red “x” in it. What should I do?
In this case it appears something blocked the program “active x” from running. When this happens try doing the following: click the refresh button in the lower right corner, then look at the top of the classroom window for a message about "active x". Click the message to allow active x to run. Do you see a white, yellow or blue bar at the top of the page asking about an “active x”? If so, click on the bar and allow it to run.
Also make sure that all pop up blockers are disabled or you may not see the pop up message asking for permission to run active x.
