  • Overview

Nutrient depletion from medications is a hot topic on the internet but is it really a major clinical issue? It can be for a small number of medications. For many other medications, nutrient depletion is less dramatic (i.e., moderate or insignificant). This program provides an overview of the classification of nutrient depletion, examples of major and moderate depletion, appropriate nutrient supplementation where necessary, and resources for identifying potential issues with nutrient depletion. Pharmacists can better counsel patients on the issue of nutrient depletion from common medications after attending this program.
