Program Overview
This program will provide health care providers with the development and treatment of hypothyroidism. At the completion of this activity, the participant will be able to explain the basic thyroid structure and function outline the risks and causes for the development of hypothyroidism. Participants will also know how to describe how hypothyroidism develops, what constitutes a diagnosis of the condition, as well as explain the risks and benefits of medications for thyroid disease. Lastly, participants will know how to describe the potential side effects and considerations of prescribing medications for hyperthyroidism.
