Program Overview
This program will provide participants with an understanding of health conditions during pregnancy. After completing this program, participants will be able to discuss over-the-counter treatment options for the most common cold and allergy symptoms experienced during pregnancy. Participants will also know how to provide safe treatment options in the antacid and H2 receptor antagonist drug classes for reflux, specifying in the safest timing of use to minimize teratogenic risks. Lastly, participants will be able to prepare a list of OTC agents for constipation that are not preferred during pregnancy and use drug mechanisms and adverse event data to explain your reasoning.
