Program Overview
This program will provide participants with an understanding of new tools and treatments for disease management in osteoporosis. After completing this program, participants will be able to describe the bone remodeling imbalance that occurs in osteopenia and osteoporosis. Participants will know how to use existing clinical tools (eg, T score, new FRAX algorithms) to identify osteoporosis risk and to evaluate disease management options. Participants will also know how to discuss concerns with bisphosphonates, the current first-line treatment options and differentiate mechanisms and dosing methods of new osteoporosis drug classes from standard treatments. Lastly, participants will be able to select populations who would most benefit from treatment with new and emerging medications.
