Program Overview
This program will provide pharmacists, nurses, and pharmacy technicians with an understanding of head lice treatment options today. After completing this program, pharmacists and nurses will be able to describe the life cycle of head lice (pediculosis captitis), explain the issues involved in ensuring an accurate diagnosis of an active head lice infestation, and state the use of the non-prescription and prescription only pediculicides and their warnings. After completing this program, pharmacy technicians will be able in general terms, describe the life cycle of head lice and identify the medications used to treat head lice.
