Program Overview
Cardiovascular disease remains the leading cause of death in the United States, accounting for nearly 35 million office and hospital visits annually. Dyslipidemia accounts for more than 50% of the population-attributable vascular risk with only half of the individuals aware of their status. This presentation will review the pathophysiology of lipid disorders and discuss treatment guidelines in the management of hyperlipidemia for prevention of the cardiovascular consequences related to dyslipidemia.
