    • Overview

Almost 30 million Americans utilize OTC Self-Care Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs) for pain management, while NSAID use results in 100,000 hospitalizations and 17,000 deaths every year. Healthcare professionals have always been concerned with the relative cardiovascular and gastrointestinal safety of NSAIDs, yet our Opioid Crisis outshines those risks with its respective sensationalization and unfortunate deadly outcomes.

Whether OTC or Prescription, NSAID medications have a distinct risk-versus-benefit analysis mandated for every single patient, causing clinicians to be stuck between a rock and a hard place when deciphering just which, if any, NSAID is best for any given patient. On top of that conundrum, the COVID-19 pandemic has raised concerns even higher on whether NSAIDs can put a patient at a higher risk for Coronavirus infection, or, conversely, if NSAIDs can treat COVID-19. Join us for this dynamic discussion on "everything NSAIDs” to facilitate improved patient care for all healthcare professionals.
