    • Overview

This monograph deals with the responsibility of pharmacists to promote the safe use of drugs that have been approved as safe by the FDA.  Simply because a drug can be used safely does not mean it will be used safely.  Pharmacists have a legal responsibility to identify situations in which unsafe drug use may occur, and to consult with the prescriber to improve the probability of safe drug use.  Malpractice standards recognize this responsibility and liability can result when the responsibility is not met.

This monograph is provided for educational purposes only. It is not intended as legal advice and should not be used as legal advice. For legal advice, a licensed attorney should be consulted.
