    • Overview

      With the increase in prescription volume and the demands placed on pharmacists, it is critically important to employ methods for quality improvement so that patient safety is maintained by minimizing the possibility of dispensing errors. This program will focus mistake proofing as a quality improvement technique to minimize dispensing errors and discuss the risk factors leading to these types of errors as well as methods to mitigate these risks. The program will also discuss the role of the FDA and the ISMP in reducing dispensing errors and the tools provided by these organizations designed to assist pharmacists achieve this goal.
