    • Overview

This monograph reviews the responsibility of pharmacists to protect the integrity of the drug supply made available by them for therapeutic purposes. Unsupervised medications create a zone of danger from which they can be diverted and used as weapons to harm unsuspecting victims. A history of health professionals diverting drugs from healthcare settings, and using them to murder people, justifies the adoption of specific strategies to prevent the use of medications as murder weapons.
