    • Overview

We will first review medication therapy differences between men and women, and then among generations with regards to patients over the age of 65 compared to those under, and then within various pharmacogenetic and ethnic backgrounds. Some say, "Men are from Mars, and women are from Venus" but just what does that entail in regard to personalizing medication therapy? With people living longer and the "baby boomer" generation entering into the geriatric population, we'll explore the evolving needs of our bodies as we age. We are all from various ethnic backgrounds and certainly have a varying genetic makeup, but once again, just what does that mean in regards to tailoring our medication therapy and health care to our patients. We will discuss pertinent gender, geriatric, and pharmacogenetic medication therapy references for more information as well.
