    • Overview

Post surgical and trauma patients will likely experience pain, which is often severe and requires opioid therapy. Many of these patients will be opioid-naive while others will be tolerant to the effect of opioids - prescription and illicit. Despite advances in pain pharmacotherapy, practitioners are not effectively preventing and treating pain. Participants in this program will learn how to craft analgesic regimens to treat acute pain, and how to handle opioid therapy during transitions in care.
