    • Overview

This webcast reviews a series of legal cases in which a pharmacist is alleged to have committed malpractice by failing to conduct an adequate drug use review.  Pharmacy practice standards have evolved to the point where accurate order processing is necessary but insufficient to avoid liability, if a prescription poses a foreseeable risk of harm to the patient.  Under these circumstances, the pharmacist has a duty to consult with the physician in the interest of patient safety.
