    • Overview

Sleep disorders, including insomnia, are common among patients with Alzheimer’s disease. The negative effects of these disorders can have a detrimental impact on patients, caregivers, and even the staff of facilities caring for the patients. Particularly in the setting of assisted living or long-term care facilities, consultant pharmacists play a vital role in optimizing the medication management of patients with Alzheimer’s disease. This program will utilize the vast knowledge and experience of two expert faculty, Dr. Angela Hill and Dr. Alon Avidan, to educate consultant pharmacists with regard to the strategies and emerging data necessary to optimally evaluate patient characteristics and align specific medication recommendations to individual patients.
