    • Overview

Patients utilizing direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs) for atrial fibrillation frequently require invasive medical procedures or surgeries, a clinical scenario that requires appropriate anticoagulation management practices to minimize complications associated with both bleeding and thrombosis. The PAUSE Study evaluated the rates of thrombosis and major bleeding associated with use of a simple, standardized DOAC management protocol. This program utilizes an expert panel discussion with the study authors to review the methods, findings, and real-world implications of the PAUSE Study.
