    • Overview

Cannabidiol (CBD) is approved by the Food and Drug Administration and is available over-the-counter when made from hemp. Despite being marketed for inflammation, pain, insomnia, anxiety, and other conditions, the evidence is not clear about its effectiveness. Pharmacists may be uncertain about how to discuss the use of CBD with patients. It is necessary for pharmacists have understanding about CBD formulations, the medical evidence to date, and other key issues so that pharmacists are better able to discuss the use of CBD with patients.
