Dr. Agness is an Assistant Professor of Geriatric Pharmacotherapy and Director of the PGY-2 Geriatric Pharmacy Residency Program at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy. Dr. Agness is a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) and Certified Geriatric Pharmacist (CGP). She also completed a fellowship with the Stanford Geriatric Education Center in Ethnogeriatrics. The program provides training for faculty to develop educational programs to equip health care professionals to address the healthcare needs of culturally diverse older adults. Dr. Agness' practice and teaching specialties include geriatric pharmacotherapy, chronic kidney disease and health literacy. She has practiced in a number of ambulatory care and community settings in the greater Baltimore region providing medication management services to older adults. Her current practice sites include an ambulatory geriatric and nephrology clinic at the Baltimore Veterans Affairs.
