  • Overview

    The hepatitis C virus (HCV) causes an infection that injures the liver. It affects more than 170 to 200 million people worldwide population and over 3.2 million individuals in the United States. The hepatitis C viral disease causes liver inflammation and if untreated can lead to cirrhosis or liver cancer. Recently, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved several oral medications with the potential to change HCV history.
