  • Overview

There are approximately 29 million Americans who have type 2 diabetes; almost 100 million Americans have pre-diabetes. The management of diabetes requires attention to detail in lifestyle modification, medication adherence and other self-care activities. Recognition of the importance of cultural influences on self-management of chronic diseases is critically important. The majority of health care professionals have not received training in this regard, and would benefit from this high practical presentation.
