    • Overview

The opioid epidemic that is wrecking lives and literally killing Americans is a national tragedy that begs for an effective response. Sometimes those people who have provided opioid to other people are held responsible for the death of the people to whom opioid have been provided. Although pharmaceutical manufacturers, distributors, physicians, and pharmacists did not cause the opioid epidemic, they can contribute to solving the opioid epidemic. I so doing, they can reduce the exposure of health professionals to charges that they killed innocent victims of opioid use.
