The cough and cold aisle can seem overly daunting to patients. Combination products abound and even trade names carry a variety of active ingredients. Too often, the response to inquiries about over the counter medications is simply, “It’s on Aisle 6.” As healthcare providers, however, we have so much more to offer. Event Details
This presentation will introduce a standard medication tray used for inpatient cardiac arrest and other emergent situations. The presentation will dive into the background of hemodynamics and shock and the medications used for the different shock states. The various American Heart Association algorithms for bradycardia, tachycardia, and cardiac arrest will be reviewed, as well as how to treat each respected disease state. Finally, the medication tray will be reintroduced to solidify why we include those specific medications.
