  • Overview

    By now, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) is familiar to all health care workers and professionals. HIPAA was created and designed to provide privacy standards to protect patient's health and medical information. Any time governing bodies make modifications or changes to these laws, it is imperative that health care professionals stay up to date with the newest standards to remain HIPAA compliant. This knowledge bases exercise will summarize the key modifications to HIPAA brought about by the adoption of the Final Omnibus Rule and provide insights as to how these changes affect the practice of pharmacy.
