    • Overview

Patients with cancer are at increased risk of experiencing venous thromboembolism (VTE), yet disease and patient-related factors make VTE treatment in such cases particularly complex.  The availability of direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs) increases the number of available treatment options for cancer-associated VTE and recent medical evidence provides insights into when and how to utilize them. This program reviews the findings of recent randomized clinical trials and systematic reviews on the subject and provides an expert panel discussion to address therapeutic challenges facing clinicians who care for this high-risk patient population.
