Immunization in older adults involves more moving parts than a single schedule can capture: age-related immune changes, product selection, and patient-specific barriers all factor in. This 3-hour, board-approved course brings those pieces together, building practical, case-tested skills as you work toward Florida’s consultant pharmacist CE requirement.
Immunization is an essential component of healthy aging, helping reduce the risk of vaccine-preventable illness, complications, hospitalization, and death in older adults.
This program combines a one-hour webinar with evidence-based readings, interactive activities, and patient cases to review current ACIP recommendations and available vaccine products for adults 50 years and older.
Learners will examine how age-related changes in the immune system affect infection risk and vaccine response, explore strategies used to enhance vaccine effectiveness in older adults, and consider barriers that may influence vaccine uptake.
Through patient-centered application, consultant pharmacists will strengthen their ability to evaluate immunization histories, identify vaccination needs, and support informed vaccine decision-making in older adults.

Florida requires 24 hours of consultant-specific CE per renewal cycle. This course covers 3 of those hours. You’ll need additional courses to meet the full requirement.
