No. The 3-hour structure refers to the course content itself, not how you complete it. You can stop and pick back up where you left off.

Can I use these hours toward my regular pharmacist renewal instead?

Approved consultant pharmacist hours can’t be applied to your standard license renewal if you use them for your consultant license, and duplicate courses can’t be counted twice. These courses are built specifically for the consultant pharmacist requirement.

How many CE hours do I need for my Florida consultant pharmacist renewal?

Florida requires 24 hours of consultant-specific CE per renewal cycle.

Is the December 31, 2026 deadline the same for every Florida consultant pharmacist?

Yes. Current Florida consultant pharmacist licenses expire at midnight Eastern on December 31, 2026, for the full licensee population. It isn’t staggered by individual renewal date.

What is a consultant pharmacist?

A consultant pharmacist holds an additional Florida license beyond a standard pharmacist license, typically overseeing medication practices in settings like long-term care facilities, hospitals, or other institutional environments. Florida requires 24 hours of consultant-specific CE every two years to maintain that license.
