This session goes beyond the medications and examines a very powerful tool in the battle against type 2 diabetes: food. With the food choices we make on an everyday basis, we can either contribute to chronic disease or work to fight against it. This session will focus on the importance of building healthy eating habits and making other lifestyle changes while also discussing OTC supplementations commonly used for type 2 diabetes. It will further evaluate effective communication strategies to empower patients in management of their own care.
