Event Details
This session is designed to equip healthcare pharmacists and pharmacy technicians with the knowledge and skills needed to address barriers to vaccination and promote effective immunization practices. Participants will explore the common challenges that limit vaccination uptake, ranging from systemic obstacles to patient-specific concerns. The course will also examine widespread myths and misconceptions about vaccines, providing clear, evidence-based responses that empower providers to counter misinformation with confidence. Finally, learners will gain insight into communication strategies, with particular emphasis on recognizing and avoiding approaches that may inadvertently increase resistance or deepen patient hesitancy. By the end of the program, participants will be better prepared to foster trust, engage in constructive dialogue, and support informed decision-making around immunization.

Event Details
As vaccine recommendations evolve, it’s important for healthcare practitioners to be aware of the many facets of vaccine-related patient care. This program aims to review the history of vaccines and shed light on current vaccine recommendations for more commonly seen vaccines, paying special attention to how vaccines reduce current disease burden (including measles) and information on newer vaccinations (including newest pneumococcal). Special care is taken to highlight the pneumococcal and measles vaccine. |
