This session seeks to address healthcare needs of culturally diverse communities which are not yet fully understood nor met.
Part of this growing advocacy supports the term “cultural humility” to be used in place of cultural competence to describe continued learning and efforts taken to understand, advocate for and facilitate the representation of marginalized communities.
In order to meet the challenge of staying current while also increasing awareness of changing terminology to ensure appropriate cultural sensitivity, this program will provide a starting point for the pharmacy team to better meet the needs of patients in underserved and disadvantaged communities.

Event Details
Mental health conditions can trigger compliance requirements with both the FMLA and the ADA. During this course, participants will learn to identify FMLA and ADA requests, as well as how to engage in the interactive process. While there are born leaders, no manager or leader has been born with inherent knowledge of how to navigate the precarious waters of the FMLA or the ADA. When participants have finished this course, they will emerge with a better understanding of the complexities of both laws and how they interact together.
