All health care providers should have a basic realization about how trafficking can affect an individual, be able to recognize signs of trauma, and respond to these warning signs without causing re-traumatization in the trafficked victim. This activity will explore considerations for identifying, questioning and intervening in a situation that might involve human trafficking. The participant will be provided action steps that can be taken to best support victims of trafficking and how to identify appropriate resources. Finally, some possible public health approaches to combat human trafficking will be identified and opportunities for partnerships will be explored. The course has been FL BOARD APPROVED to comply with the Human Trafficking Bill, Chapter 2019-152.
