From being legal tender in colonial states to a sporting a staggering 6% of all drug mixtures at one time to classification as a controlled substance, the history of cannabis is intricate and complex. Recent actions on the state and federal level have garnered a renewed interest in cannabis and cannabinoids, sparking new questions and counseling opportunities for pharmacy personnel. This session examines marijuana, cannabis, and cannabinoids form a pharmacologic perspective and highlights both potential advantages and disadvantages of incorporating into clinical practice.
