Pain Management Specialty Pharmacist Unit 3 Module 1: Pain Management During the Opioid Crisis

This session is part of the General Pain Unit, which explores overall pain management considerations, best practices, and pain conditions. This session examines the overlapping concerns of pain management and substance use disorder (addiction) and explores the correlation between the rate of overdose deaths and the rate of prescribing of opioid medications. Morphine milligram equivalent dosing is discussed within the context of the 2016 CDC’s chronic pain opioid guidelines.
