Interest in peptides has grown beyond established prescription medicines into a rapidly evolving marketplace of compounded, investigational, and direct-to-consumer products promoted for health and longevity. Yet, “peptide therapy” is often discussed as though it represents a single therapeutic category, obscuring substantial differences in clinical evidence, product quality, regulatory oversight, and patient risk. This webinar will provide pharmacists with a structured, evidence-based framework for distinguishing FDA-approved drug products from lawfully compounded preparations and products distributed from unverified sources. Through case studies involving commonly promoted peptides, participants will learn to evaluate safety and efficacy claims; navigate key compounding provisions under the Federal, Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act; identify regulatory red flags; communicate uncertainty; document concerns; and report suspected adverse events.
