Certain medications are associated with a significantly higher risk of patient harm when errors occur, often due to their pharmacologic properties. This activity will review the pharmacology of commonly encountered high-risk medications and how they contribute to medication errors and adverse outcomes. Emphasis will be placed on helping pharmacy technicians recognize pharmacology-driven risk factors, identify common error patterns, and understand when to escalate concerns to the pharmacist to support patient safety.
